Coping with Bad Dirt-We do it Everyday!

There are so many ways to fix bad dirt.  Just recently, the popular home magazine, Better Homes & Gardens created a test garden in a city block.  They had a bunch of challenges to be able to grow anything on property where there once was a dry cleaner.

The issues they faced were many and they have some good tips on dealing with drainage, compaction, composition and more.

Screening soil on site is another excellent way to handle bad dirt.  Run the bad dirt through a topsoil screener and bam! you’ve got usable dirt!

Screening topsoil can be the single most productive thing you can do to before you re-landscape. It allows you to produce a brand new layer of topsoil for growing your new plants, without having to haul away dirt and then bring back dirt. Make sure you or your landscaper using a portable dirt screener when starting the new project.
